Lydia Ford Alston

Lydia Ford Alston is a 27 year old native of Benton Harbor, Michigan, where she grew up as child nine, of fourteen children. Lydia accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age and in 2010, she UN-ASHAMELY accepted God’s call into ministry, at her home church, Unity Temple C.O.G.I.C., under the leadership of the Late Bishop William Nichols, Sr. and Supervisor Martha Nichols. She married the love of her life, Jhonathan Alston, on June 4, 2022.

 

In August 2017, at the age of 20, Lydia became the youngest licensed Deaconess Missionary under the leadership of the Late Bishop Nathaniel W. Wells, Jr., within the Church Of God in Christ, Inc. and was elevated to the role of Evangelist Missionary in November 2018. Within the Church, Lydia serves as a youth leader, worship leader, minister, mentor, and teacher. She has a YouTube channel and digital ministry called Life in The Word, helping others increase their knowledge of God through their personal devotion to Him. 

Lydia served as an executive staff member of the Church of God In Christ’s International Youth Choir, and currently serves in varies capacities within the International Youth Department and the Mid-North Regional Youth Department. She is currently a member of Greater Faith C.O.G.I.C., under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Hudson, Sr.

 

In May of 2021, Lydia Ford Alston accumulated her second degree at Morgan State University Bachelor of Science degree and was recognized with numerous academic awards and honors. She served as a 3rd Grade Teacher until God transitioned her outside the classroom.

 

All in all, Lydia’s main goal is to encourage, educate, and cultivate change through music, love, and the power of God.
